Hello.

I am a NY-based illustrator and artist.

I was born in Kurashiki (please google it, it’s a beautiful historic town in Okayama) and raised in Yokohama, Japan. After graduating from The Cooper Union School of Art with BFA, I started taking editorial assignments as well as other projects big and small.

Trained by hardcore fine artists in the super traditional art school, I’m more comfortable using old school media like a pencil, pen, or brush on a piece of paper, but I’m still on a quest to find the “perfect” paper. Watercolor is always my favorite medium but I also love to experiment with different stuff. Sometimes you can find me making small sculptures and wood whittling too.

倉敷生まれ、横浜育ち、そしてNYの The Cooper Union School of Art で美術を学び、卒業後は雑誌や本、カード、ウェブサイトなどのコミッションをいただいくようになりました。

がっつりオールドスクールの美術学校で学んだためか、紙にペンまたは筆、というのが一番好きです。水彩絵具が相棒ですが、いろんなメディウムを使うことも好きなので色々試して楽しんでいます。未だに『完璧な紙』に出会えず探索中。
